Community Services

Our club aims to help those in need and support good causes across Budleigh Salterton, East Budleigh, Yettington, Otterton and Colaton Raleigh.

We are all local, and we have a good understanding of where we should focus our efforts.

Throughout the year, local charities and good causes approach us to support a wide range of specific activities or much needed items.

What do we do?

Our activities are wide-ranging. We support and collect donations for the Exmouth Food Bank and the Budleigh Community Food Larder. We promote diabetes awareness at various events including the Exmouth ParkRun and family friendly walk around the River Otter estuary as well as hosting stands at Gala Week and at Seachange events. We continue to litter pick on the beach and around the town and local villages.

We have a fund-raising golf day in August each year and have a 10k trail run on Woodbury Common in September.

Health and well-being are areas of focus for us. We collect and recycle unwanted spectacles and provide our free ‘Message in a Bottle’. This is a simple and effective way to keep vital medical details, where they can be found in an emergency – in the fridge.

How do we fund these activities?

We are able to provide this support from funds raised by donations from the public and our own Fundraising activities throughout the year. Every Penny goes to a good cause.

How can I participate?

All of the Community activities that the club is involved in require time, commitment, and dedication. If you see yourself as an individual that would like to help others, please contact the club for details of membership.
