Lions are ordinary people from all walks of life who enjoy getting together and doing good things. We are kind and generous people who want to help. That’s why we work on projects to improve our communities and protect the environment. We get enormous satisfaction from the knowledge that what we do DOES make a difference. And we enjoy friendship and fun while doing so.
Whenever Lions club members get together, problems get smaller and communities get better. We help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy. Budleigh Salterton Lions Club is part of a global organisation with 1.4 million members in 208 countries and geographic regions. With this much manpower, it’s no wonder that Lions Club members can achieve extraordinary things, every day.
The Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness – it's part of our history as well as our work today. But we also perform volunteer work for many different kinds of community projects – including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding senior citizens and the disabled.
Budleigh Salterton Lions Club has been fund raising since 1980. There are a number of projects that we focus on every year including Gala Week, the Duck Race and the Charity Golf Day. We also hold monthly pub quizzes and bingo evenings. Club Members give up their time to help run each event, and we always get fantastic support from the local community.
Throughout the year there are many fund raising events organised by the Lions. Events can be one-off or regular tried and tested events such as bingo, jumble sales and pub quizzes.
We have a Fayre on August Bank Holiday with a variety of stalls, BBQ & Pebble Building competition along Budleigh seafront.
See our Facebook page and Events page for more details.

Budleigh Lions are collecting Stamps for the Children's Hospice South West
We want to recycle your postage stamps for CHSW. Hundreds of letters are received by businesses and individuals each week. Why not collect the used stamps and let us have them at one our events?
We will forward them on to the CHSW, their stamp dealer pays the CHSW for the discarded stamps by weight and even more for special stamps and albums.
Thank you for your support which is gratefully received.
