''We Serve''

Lions Club International have a network of 46,000 clubs with 1.35 million members making us the world's largest service club organization. We are also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. From children who need glasses to senior citizens who need a mobility aid...... Our motto is "WE SERVE".

About Us

The Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness – it's part of our history as well as our work today. But we also perform volunteer work for many different kinds of community projects – including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding senior citizens and the disabled.

Budleigh Salterton Lions club have been fund raising since 1980. There are a number of projects that we focus on every year. The Gala Week, The Duck Race and The Charity Golf day to name but three. We also do a weekly sunday night quiz and monthly bingo.  Club Members give up both their time and enthusiasm to help run each event, and we always get fantastic support from the local community.

Fund Raising

Through-out the year there are many fund raising events organised by the Lions. Events can be one-off or regular tried and tested events such as bingo, jumble sales and pub quizzes.

Get Involved

Almost every month the Club organises a unique event for  members and wives and importantly... prospective members.

Involving the ladies is a crucial feature of the club. On most occasions it would be impossible to hold events such as the Gala Week or the Charity Golf Day without their support.

Lions Club Budleigh Salterton need to inform you of the impact that latest news on the Corona virus is having on all of us, The latest briefing and instructions from the government, e.g. “now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others and to stop all unnecessary travel" and "avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and other such social venues"

We have spoken in detail about the guidelines that are being put in place, and with guidance from Lions club international we have concluded that all Lions events shall be cancelled until further notice.

As a result, this will impact our Sunday night quizzes held at the Dog and Donkey, June, July's and August Monthly Bingo’s  the Jumble sale planned for July and golf day  with a heavy heart we have decided to cancel these events.

We are sorry this has come to this, especially as everyone concerned have put in so much work into organising these events but we must ensure the safety of the general public, other organisations and Lions
