''We Serve''
Lions Club International have a network of 46,000 clubs with 1.35 million members making us the world's largest service club organization. We are also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. From children who need glasses to senior citizens who need a mobility aid...... Our motto is "WE SERVE".
About Us
The Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness – it's part of our history as well as our work today. But we also perform volunteer work for many different kinds of community projects – including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding senior citizens and the disabled.
Events
Budleigh Salterton Lions club have been fund raising since 1980. There are a number of projects that we focus on every year. The Gala Week, The Duck Race and The Charity Golf day to name but three. We also do a weekly sunday night quiz and monthly bingo. Club Members give up both their time and enthusiasm to help run each event, and we always get fantastic support from the local community.
Fund Raising
Through-out the year there are many fund raising events organised by the Lions. Events can be one-off or regular tried and tested events such as bingo, jumble sales and pub quizzes.
Get Involved
Almost every month the Club organises a unique event for members and wives and importantly... prospective members.
Involving the ladies is a crucial feature of the club. On most occasions it would be impossible to hold events such as the Gala Week or the Charity Golf Day without their support.

The Lions bottle tops recycling Scheme
We can no longer actively collect bottle tops whilst the Covid-19 pandemic continues. The person further up the chain who takes our bottle tops is no longer taking them and is unlikely to restart anytime in the foreseeable future. At this time we have nowhere else to take them. Please refrain from taking bottle tops to the Lions Hut and other drop off points. Any bottle tops that you currently have please recycle as you did prior to the Lions recycling scheme.
its sad to see an important recycling project end this way and we express our thank to you for your support which was gratefully received.
